hello everyone,
i havent posted in awhile, have been training and we dont get internet access. but, i am at fort knox right now getting familiarized with tanks and the library here has internet so here i am.
the summer so far has been pretty good. i would rather been home but ive done some pretty cool things and the training has definitely been valuable in developing me as a soldier, particularly the aspect of a warfighter. we have been so busy in the field though we have hardly had any time to do any physical exercise which kind of sucks, but whatever. by the way for those of you who dont know ill be coming back from july 31st to august 5th so ill be seeing you all around, hopefully. didnt really take any pictures hopefully my friends took some.
anyway ft knox has been pretty good so far, it's a really relaxing training sequence we're done by dinner every day and the rest of the time is ours to meander around post... the only depressing part and actually pretty big thing is that i lost both my cell phone and my camera sometime on the way over here so.... everyone comment me your cell phone #s! but yeah i got really down about that... hopefully my dad will get me another cell phone and the camera was just expensive forget that grrrr... :'(:'(
well gonna go see yall around hopefully sometime.

so, life is so so right now. got to go out a few times the past month, once to washington dc (which was a really cool trip, actually) and another time this past weekend to nyc where i hung out with my good friends ed and annie.
anyway, this week has been a smoker, academically, but it is almost over. all that's left is that freaking history paper (agh) and then it is smooth sailing till TEE (finals) week.
this morning, we had a "fire drill." it seemed really stupid from the start, because we had to wake up at like 0520 to get ready for the drill by 0545 and then we couldnt get back to our rooms till 0800. it doesn't take two hours for firemen to go into the barracks and make sure the fire alarms are working. so, it didn't take long for word to spread that it was really a health and welfare expection aka a search for drugs and alcohol. our suspicions were confirmed by the presence of several K9 units accompanied by the local police this morning in Central Area. in conclusion this inspection was most likely totally useless as everyone had 12 hours advance warning to dispose of/consume any illicit materials in their possession. and they made us get up an hour earlier. bastards.
just had gymnastics, which is the worst part of my day. today was particularly bad, we were i guess shimmying along this horizontal rope and it was really an easy exercise to get full points on but my hands slipped at literally the last minute. so mad... i got very few points today. and my left leg is aching like none other cuz they made us do cartweels practically the entire class and i guess thats what cartweels do to my leg.
37 (and a butt) days till i go home! :)

because he needs something to read when he is bored.
anyway, today is officially the end of the week because tommorow....
im going home! well not quite yet, going to la first will be back in danville monday night. but anyways yeah a lot has happened since the last post and i dont feel like regurgitating it all.... went to mit over pres. weekend spent it with beany/chan/geoff where we watched sympathy for mr. revenge, yet another merciless revenge flick from the man who brought you old boy. it was a different movie than old boy... not as exciting but good in its own artistic way.... u can probably watch this one without being traumatized for the rest of your life.
the weather is cheering up and for once in my life i am eagerly awaiting the arrival of sunny days.
also, the movie "wasabi" with jean reno is awesome... if you ever get the chance watch it! so funny.

well just got back from a run and i figured id make a post first there was a light falling of snow just now and it was pretty cool just running throgh the flakes, ya know. on the other hand my hands are freezing and i can barely type right now.
so, this past semester has definitely been a lot tougher than last semester. i dont know what it is but things have taken a step up for sure, academics, this semesters chain of command (that is cooling down though), just everything. i just feel so tired all the time.. which is another thing cuz whenever i lie down to take a nap i can never fall asleep and its like WTF?!?!?! AGGHHH. anyway things these past coupple of weeks (and next week too) have hit me like a damn steam roller you get one major assignment or test over a week and u can relax for a few minutes before u look up ur syllabus and realize theres another big test in two days or another project due tommorow. AAAGGHHH.
well things arent too sunny here (figuratively and literally) but i guess u should maintain a positive attitude... we read a poem today, nuns fret not at their convent's narrow room by william wordsworth, and i think they had the cadets read this especially because basically it talks about how nuns in a convent are basically in a prison but its not really because they chose to be there and they are thus happy which is basically the situation here. this place really is like a prison.... mucuh mre comfortable of course i guess but still the similarities are there. but yeah i guess it is a reminder to stay happy. anyway i will remember that until tommorow morning when i wake up and then i will remember instead that i am pissed at life in general. hahaha. uh anyway.
on a bright note some taiwanese cadets came over on monday which was really really cool. talked to an exchange cadet who goes here and the hazing that goes on there well lets just say the upperclass have a longer leash. but their cadets were all cool to talk to had pizza haha the rationale was they should try out american food but im pretty sure its because we couldnt get real chinese food in time. okay this post is getting way too long. and im pretty sure my chinese has gotten a lot better. pics: http://usma.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2004674&l=f73f9&id=11904445
well president's day weekend next weekend! this weekend we are doing some shooting which should be fun stuff... except we have to get up early. damnit!

[30 Jan 2006|05:52pm] |
so i was browsing upperclass xangas and i found my squad leaders... well actually i found it liuek last year before i came here but i was looking at her beast entries and it is pretty funny what she has to say about us so i am posting notable parts up here...
Sunday, July 03, 2005 Wow it's been a crazy week. The new cadets are so much work. Much more then i had imagined. We have to go everywhere with them and they are all so slow! It's frusterating. I was in pretty low spirits yesterday because i got less then 4 hours of sleep thursday and friday nights. So that sucked because i was so tired and crabby. However my squad is getting better at squaring themselves away. All of them have terrible military bearing. Last night at dinner 8 of them started laughing.(that would be me) I was pretty embarrassed.(yeah we paid for that) Overall this is a good experiance but it is leaving me so drained. I will be glad to get home in 2 weeks.
Wednesday, July 06, 2005
So busy, I finally have time to relax because i am on the q, which means i am sitting here while someone else deals with my new cadets. I am so sick of them. It is so frusterating, especially since i have a new cadet who doesn't care about anything. (that is not me) I just want him to quit. On a lighter note I made one of my new cadets cry which was great. (thats not me either) I have turned so mean but i can't help it. These kids are so jacked up. Sunday, July 17, 2005 It's my last morning at Beast. This past month has been very frusterating, but a learning experience. Highlights were the Warrior Competition, Land Nav, IMT, and watching my squad come together as a team. (haha) It's amazing how much they have changed over the past 3 weeks. I'm proud of them, no matter how stinky/annoying they are.

so the other day myself and a bunch of other plebes got pulled to do this detail, shoveling snow away from our formation area. we worked for like fourty minutes (which is really a lot of time for us... not to mention there was a call of duty game going) before we were all like screw it because it was gay and then later we walked outside and the entire area was clear of snow and we see this big snow plow machine off to the side. so stupid!!!!
anyway got an extra pass... not sure when im going to use it.

IronChef Foicite: well, there's a lot of reasons IronChef Foicite: i mean, roses only last like a couple weeks IronChef Foicite: and that's if you leave them in water IronChef Foicite: and they really only exist to be pretty IronChef Foicite: so that's like saying IronChef Foicite: "my love for you is transitory and based solely on your appearance" IronChef Foicite: but a potato! IronChef Foicite: potatos last for fucking ever, man IronChef Foicite: in fact, not only will they not rot, they actually grow shit even if you just leave them in the sack IronChef Foicite: that part alone makes it a good symbol IronChef Foicite: but there's more! IronChef Foicite: there are so many ways to enjoy a potato! you can even make a battery with it! IronChef Foicite: and that's like saying "i have many ways in which I show my love for you" IronChef Foicite: and potatos may be ugly, but they're still awesome IronChef Foicite: so that's like saying "it doesn't matter at all what you look like, I'll still love you"
so remember the next time u want to make an impression... give her a potato.

| update of my life |
[07 Jan 2006|10:48pm] |
so, christmas break was an awesome time. and then on new year's day i was yanked back to west point :(. seriously though, this new year's day was probaby like one of the worst days of my life, definitely the worst new year's ive had. man. when i think about it, i relaly have very little time to spend with family for like the next 10 years (or however long i am in the Army). my longest break during my schooling is three weeks and they're not very frequent, and im gonna be an adult when i graduate with my own house and everything. yeah kind of sucks. but, whatever. i know it sounds like i am whining a lot some people my ask so why do u go there lets just say it is a love hate relationship. anyway...
yeah so my one consolation for coming back on 1/1/06 was that this week was gonna be an easy relaxing week WRONG. we had one of those white glove inspection types today and so we worked on that practically the whole week had a new platoon sergeant oh yeah thats another thing damn so stupid i came back with ridiculously long hair and it wouldnt have been a problem except the barbers the first day didnt come to work... so my psg was incredulous at the length of my hair. yeah he was pretty pissed. and hes new this semester was in chile or something last semester so thats his first impression of me. great! anyway got that cut... eventually. yeah a crapload of other stuff sucked too. one of my most vivid memories is lying on my bed the first day i got back looking at the ceiling and wondering how the hell time passed so quickly. it is funny when berak starst u think its gonna last forever and before u know it ur steppingo n that plane back to school again. ARGH! anyway... the inspection was today school starts next week and ive just realized i actually didnt buy any of the supplies i needed (SHIT) so i am a little worried. oh well.
just finished the second season of 24 finished around 9:30PM started around 1:30. yeah... freaking awesome. man. jack is so awesome.... january 15th season five premiere DONT MISS IT!
